Abstract

165,654. Dalzell, H. D. June 21, 1920. Reservoir pens.-In a stylographic pen of the kind in which the point-section 1 has an annular air chamber 3 in communication with the air and the ink reservoir, a short hollow sleeve 11 carries an elastic sac 10 for filling purposes and fits into the barrel 14 of the pen so that the sac, sleeve and point-section form a complete ink-carrying unit, the point-section fitting into the sleeve 11 so as to form the air chamber 3 between the interior of the sleeve and an annular recess 4 in the point-section. A screw-on safety cap 22 is used, having an internal air chamber 21, the face 20 of which contacts with an annular shoulder 19 on the pointsection, the writing-point being received by a rubber pad 25. The air chamber 3 preferably communicates with the air by a longitudinal hole 2, and with the ink-passage 7 by a radial hole 6 at the end of the chamber 3 remote from the writing- point.
