Reservoir pens. - In self - filling reservoir or stylographic pens of the kind that are filled by section by the mouth or by reciprocating the cap at the rear end of the pen, air and ink are admitted into the barrel through longitudinal bores g extending through the rear screwed portion of the point-section and connecting the barrel with an annular recess f formed in the point-section. In order to regulate the inflow of ink, and also to prevent overflow of ink whilst filling or using the pen, an inner plug or disk i is adapted to be screwed up or down in a slightly tapered screw bore at the rear end of the pen. The cap comprises the usual hard rubber cap with an air outlet q, and an inner cap l, which contacts with the circular edge m of the annular recess f and has one or more longitudinal ducts h<1>, h<2>, along which the air passes to the vent q, when both caps are reciprocated in the act of filling the pen. The needle c is carried on a weighted extension b, and may be used for cleaning the ink duct.
