Abstract

164,112. Laker, E. J. March 1, 1920. Spray carburettors.- The casing a has a straight-through passage with lateral extensions e, b. The extension e forms a casing for a throttle valve f which has perforations g in its lower end to admit air which enters through a port h in the extension e controlled by a rotatable or sliding valve i. The extension b has secured thereto by a nut c the petrol inlet member d, a needle valve r in which controls the petrol flow and is adapted to be raised by suction acting upon a disc or spraying plate q perforated at p. The petrol may be further controlled by a screwed valve o. Air entering at s sprays the petrol before it enters the main air passage. The air inlet is covered by gauze v, the lower portion of which is of double thickness, while the upper part is single, so as to create a greater suction on the plate q as the valve f is opened. The plate q may be lifted manually by a rod t and its lift limited by a stop u.
