Spring mountings of articles.-A shockabsorbing device consists of a casing H connected to a shaft A by a series of volute springs f placed side by side and having their ends E spaced equally round the casing. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 2 and 3, four springs are used, one only being shown in Fig. 3, and are spaced at 90‹ apart. The springs extend through more than a semicircle and their hooked ends E engage recesses N in the casing. The casing has flanges R to hold the springs in position. Specification 7644/14 is referred to.
