Abstract

162,316. Denton, W. L. April 22, 1920. Pivoted handles; axially-rotatable handles; telescopic, extensible, and sectionable handles.- A window-cleaning device comprises a tubular stem 10 having a forked member 28 between the limbs of which are pivotally mounted a pair of discs 26 adapted to be rotated to adjust the position of a brush-supporting spindle 18 by means of an arm 29 mounted on a trunnion carried by one of the discs and connected by a link 31 to a sliding pin 30. A reduced portion of the stem 10 fits into the upper end of a handle portion 11 provided with a number of grooves 16, connection being made by a thumb-screw 14 which engages one of a plurality of holes in the stem 10. The spindle 18 is telescopically mounted in a tube 19 connected to the reduced end of a rod which is fitted to revolve in a tube 24 carried by the discs 26.
