Abstract
206,062. Ingerfield, F. E. Feb. 2, 1923. Extensible reversible handles with recessedback retaining-devices for brushes.-Hair and like brushes are provided with a pair of telescopic handles either of which is extensible from the back of the brush. As shown, the hollow back 2 of the brush has an opening at each end through which either of the handles 3 may be extended. Each handle is in two parts 5, 6, telescoping one on the other, and the end of the outer part 6 is preferably formed to the shape of the end of the back so as to close the opening as shown. In each part 6 is fixed a central tube 7 in which slides a rod 8 extending into both of the tubes 7. A spring 9 is interposed between the parts 5, 6 to hold them in extended position when drawn out. A pivoted spring catch 10 at each end of the back engages a hole 11 in the part 5 when the handle is extended, and a hole in the part 6 when the handle is enclosed. The catch may be disengaged by pushing in the end 13.
