Abstract

668,361. Toasting-apparatus. DAVIS, W. J. Feb. 25, 1947, No. 8489/47. Class 28 (i). A toasting device having means for varying the angular position of the slice to be toasted comprises a tube 10 having a handle 11 at one end and a wire stirrup 12, 13 at the other end to which a slice holder is pivotally connected so as to be movable about an axis transverse to the length of the device. The holder comprises two wire hoops 1, 2 between which the slice is held, the hoops being secured to a base plate 3 pivotally connected to a plate 6 whereby it may be reversed to toast opposite sides of the slice. Plate 6 is pivoted to the stirrup and has a depending arm 17 in turn pivoted to a rod 16 connected to a manipulating member comprising two loops of wire 14, 15, the latter slidable on the rod 10 and the former forming a finger grip. Thus movement of the manipulating member varies the angular position of the slice holder.
