(54) A FEMININE GARMENT (71) I, EMMA TALLIA, of Via Vinadio, 22 - Torino, Italy, of Italian nationality, do hereby declare the invention, for which I pray that a patent may be granted to me, and the method by which it is to be performed, to be particularly described in and by the following statement: This invention relates to an improved feminine garment.

The present invention consists in a feminine garment which includes a central band made of elasticated material and serving as a body-belt formed in one piece with a lower band and an upper vest portion both made of a lighter material than that of the body-belt, wherein the lower margin of the band is curved upwardly symmetrically to the front and downwardly symmetrically to the rear, and the upper margin of the band is curved upwardly symmetrically to the front and downwardly symmetrically to the rear.

In carrying the invention into effect according to one convenient mode by way of example, the drawings show a garment 1 which includes a central band 2 made of elasticated wool and serving as a body-belt with thermally insulating properties. The lower margin of the band 2 is curved upwardly symmetrically to the front, as at 4, in order to allow freedom of leg movement and is curved downwardly symmetrically to the rear, as at 4a, in order to cover the loins and follow the contour of the hips. The upper margin of the band is curved upwardly symmetrically to the front, as at 3 in order to cover and protect the stomach, and is curved downwardly symmetrically to the rear, as at 3a, in order to allow freedom of movement for the shoulder blades.The body-belt 2 is formed in one piece, for example by being interwoven, with a lower band 5 and an upper vest-portion both made of a lighter material than that of the body-belt 2. The vest-portion 6 is provided with cups 7 made of elastic tulle-like material preformed, for example by means of a heating process, and has wide shoulderstrap portions 8 which to the rear extend to a portion 9 for covering the back of the wearer, the upper margin of portion 9 being curved downwardly symmetrically to the rear. The vest portion is sleeveless and is formed with wide arm-holes 10.

The garment described and illustrated provides a practical garment which is particularly suitable for medium and low temperatures. The garment can be made to fit closely the figure of the wearer and its encumbrance is negligible while it provides in a single piece, three garments which are traditionally independent, that is, a vest, a brassiere and a body-belt.

WHAT I CLAIM IS: 1. A feminine garment which includes a central band made of elasticated material and serving as a body-belt formed in one piece with a lower band and an upper vest-portion both made of a lighter material than that of the body-belt, wherein the lower margin of the band is curved upwardly symmetrically to the front and downwardly symmetrically to the rear, and the upper margin of the band is curved upwardly symmetrically to the front and downwardly symmetrically to the rear.

2. A garment as claimed in claim 1, wherein the upper vest-portion is provided with preformed cups.

3. A garment as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the vest-portion has shoulder-strap portions extending to a portion for covering the back of the wearer.

A feminine garment which includes a central band made of elasticated material and serving as a body-belt formed in one piece with a lower band and an upper vest-portion both made of a lighter material than that of the body-belt, wherein the lower margin of the band is curved upwardly symmetrically to the front and downwardly symmetrically to the rear, and the upper margin of the band is curved upwardly symmetrically to the front and downwardly symmetrically to the rear.

2. A garment as claimed in claim 1, wherein the upper vest-portion is provided with preformed cups.

3. A garment as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the vest-portion has shoulder-strap portions extending to a portion for covering the back of the wearer.

4. A garment as claimed in claim 1, 2 or 3, wherein the garment is woven in a single piece and accomplishes the three different function of a vest, a body-belt and a brassiere.

5. A feminine garment substantially as described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
