Guarding against unauthorized use.-In a code locking-device for the steering-pillar of a cycle, the outer end of the bolt e is engaged by a rotatable cap f in such a manner that rotation of the cap imparts a rectilinear movement to the bolt, the cap being prevented from other than rotatory motion by a spring ring f<1>. The bolt moves in a sleeve a screwed into the steering-head A and carries pins e<1>, which, when the code rings d are in the correct position, can pass through slots in the internal flanges on these rings. The innermost ring bears upon a washer c in contact with the head. The cap engages with the outer screwed end of the bolt.
