Adjustment of the length of the valve spindle is obtained by means of a. disc g having a stem g<1> adjustably screwed into the spindle. The adjustment is maintained by a loose disc h engaged to the valve by a small stud or projection, and to the disc g by teeth g<2> engaging a toothed portion g<2> of the disc g. The operating-cam is indicated at f. The springs c may bear directly on the valve guide a or on a disc b resting on a shoulder a<1>.
