Gases, electrically precipitating s u s p e n d e d particles from. - In a dust precipitator, deposition on an insulator is prevented by means of a conducting cover 3 connected to the high-pressure conductor 2 and extending within a second conducting cover 4 which surrounds the foot of the insulator 1 and is earthed or connected to the other supply conductor. Discharge is prevented by avoiding sharp angles and by beading the edges 5, 6 of the covers. The covers may be cylindrical or conical.
