Drilling-machines.-In a two-speed pneumatic drill, the spindle B is secured against axial move. ment by a collar b<1> and a ball bearing C located in the hollow end of a tube D, which is engaged by a ratchet-operated spindle E to feed the drill. A pinion h<2>, fast on the spindle h<1> of the distributing-valve H of the motor, is driven from the crank-shaft G through a loose wheel F, which has clutch teeth f<2>adapted to engage clutch teeth k<2> on a sliding wheel K splined on the drill spindle. The drill spindle may thus be driven either direct from the loose wheel F or at a reduced speed through a pinion h<3> on the distributing-valve spindle.
