Abstract
A material, of use for deflocculating amorphous bodies, consists of the product of reaction of hexamethylenetetramine upon starchy material which has been subjected to heat treatment. A starchy material, such as wheat or other cereal, is first roasted at a temperature below that of carbonization, then ground and treated with a solution of hexamethylenetetramine or with ammonia solution to which formaldehyde has been added in insufficient quantity to combine with all the ammonia present. The pasty mass is finally extracted with water and the filtrate constitutes the deflocculating solution.ALSO:A material, of use for deflocculating amorphous bodies, consists of the product of reaction of hexamethylenetetramine upon starchy material which has been subjected to heat treatment. A starchy material, such as wheat or other cereal, is first roasted at a temperature below that of carbonization, then ground and treated with a solution of hexamethylene-tetramine or with ammonia solution to which formaldehyde has been added in insufficient quantity to combine with all the ammonia present. The pasty mess is finally extracted with water and the filtrate constitutes the deflocculating solution.ALSO:A material, of use for deflocculating amorphous bodies, consists of the product of reaction of hexamethylenetetramine upon starchy material which has been subjected to heat treatment.
