Abstract

The process for the malting of cereal grain described and claimed in the parent Specification is improved or modified by using any suitable water-soluble bromate, other than sodium or potassium bromate, having the desired rootlet inhibiting properties and of which the action, at the specified concentrations, is not detrimental to the brewing process. Calcium, ammonium, magnesium and lithium bromates are mentioned. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 783,611 and 811,374.
