Bottoms; linings and coatings. - Worn-out enamelled vessels are repained by (1) placing the article in a bath of sodium or potassium hydroxide solution, (2) removing the bottom by mechanical means, (3) pressing on a new bottom, (4) heating to about 1000‹ C. for about three minutes, (5) introducing into a bath of strong acid such as sulphuric acid, (6) re-enamelling.
