157,189. Schrader's Son, Inc., A., (Assignees of Schweinert, M. C.). March 8, 1913, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Lift valves.-A valve device particularly applicable for use with fire - extinguishers which contain liquids or gases under heavy pressure is actuated by a multi-threaded screw and has a packing clamped between the bonnet and a shoulder on the casing with which a sealing collar on the back of the valve member is adapted to co-operate. The fibre valve face i is carried in a recess in the valve member e which is formed integrally with a tubular spindle j having transverse ports k adapted to act as an outlet. This spindle is connected to the multi-threaded actuating sleeve l, which has an integral handle g, by a nut p housed in a recess q and by flats formed on the spindle. The back of the valve member has a face u adapted to seat, when the valve is open, against a packing washer r held against a shoulder s on the casing by the bonnet b.
