Abstract

157,028. Heymann, E. F. May 27, 1920. Tyres, non-elastic, and rims.-Instead of the usual pneumatic tyre, a rail tyre 5 twice as wide as the wheel 1 is provided on its underside with projections 7 and is detachably mounted upon the seating 3 of the wheel 1 by the engagement with the projections 7 of wedges 8 fixed in position by bolts 11. The heads 13 of the bolts 11 are curved at 14 to lie snugly against the outer surface of the flange 4 on the seating 3. The rail tyre 5 tapers from the flange 6 outwards.
