158,963. Bateman, H. E. G., and Bateman, L. C. Nov. 7, 1919. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Jackets and covers; tyre attachments to rims.-A tyre having a tubular metal or other rigid core, such as described in Specification 3391/14, is fitted with a rubber tread c having an intermediate layer d of a distinguishing colour to indicate the extent of wear in use. The tyre is attached to the felloe h by side flanges i, j shaped to form a curved seating as shown, and by radial bolts g engaging lapped sockets f secured at intervals inside the core a. In a modification (not shown) the felloe itself may be curved to form the tyre-seat, the flanges i, j embracing the sides only of the tyre.
