Abstract

157,017. Jackson, W. J. Mellersh-, (Morgan & Wright). April 7, 1920. Tyre-attachments to rims.-In a tyre casing of the type in which superposed layers 'or plies of fabric are secured or wound round anchoring- members adjacent each rim engaging member, two anchoring-members 4, 5 are provided and two sets of plies are wound round each member. The outer set of plies engaging the member 4 comprise central plies 9, 10 looped round the member 4 and superficial plies 6, 7, 8, and the inner set round the member 5 comprise central plies 13, 14, 15, and superficial plies 11, 12 which forms a lapped joint with the plies 6, 7. The plies 13, 14, 15 pass between the members 4, 5 and in addition plies 17, 18 are mounted between the plies 14, 15 and terminate just above the member 5. An extra ply 16 is superposed upon the ply 6 and a rubber strip 19 is mounted between the plies 6, 7.
