Abstract

Soap powders are produced from drying oils, train oils, and other oils and fats forming soft or unstable soaps by concentrating the soda soaps, mixed or not with alkali carbonate, at 180-200 DEG C. and a corresponding pressure of about 15 atmospheres. Polymerization of the unsaturated fatty acids is said to take place, and coloring and malodorous bodies to be driven off. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 141,720 and 145,502.
