Memorandum appliances.-A pocket memorandum appliance for accounting purposes consists of a casing 7 the top 8 of which is sprung into position and is provided with a slot 11 under which a paper strip 12 passes. The paper is fed from a spool 15 to a spool 14 over a platen 13 by means of milled discs 21, 22 projecting through slots in the casing 7 and top 8; an'd accidental movement of the paper is prevented by means of a spring-member 18 secured to the plate 16 and bearing on the under-side of the ends of the spools. The spools are mounted in plates 16, 17 integral with the platen 13 and forming a removable unit. In a modification, the member 18 is secured to a separate member removably inserted in the casing and the top 8 is hinged to the casing 7:
