561,746. Memorandum appliances. BRANSON, J. C. S. Oct. 30, 1942, No. 15231. [Class 16] Relates to memorandum appliances of the kind in which one or more paper strips drawn from rolls 34, Figs. 2 and 3, are passed over a baseplate 10, which is provided with a hinged cover 24 for the rolls and with an apertured window-plate 21 hinged to the opposite end of the base for holding down the strips. According to the invention, the paper rolls, which may rest in a recess in the base, are positioned by upwardly projecting webs 12, and the free ends of the strips are guided by webs 16, Fig. 5, which project from a stepped or inclined part 14 at the other end of the base. The window plate, which is formed with a cutting-edge 39, is pivoted on a rod 23 beneath which the strips pass. Separate window plates may be provided for each roll, and they may have downwardly bent guide-flanges at the sides, which are accommodated in grooves in the baseplate. The cover 24 for the rolls is held in either open or closed position by springs 32.
