Abstract
154,812. Brown, H. J. Jan. 6, 1920. Indentification and descriptive marks, producing on negative by exposure.-In cameras fitted with means for producing autograph or descriptive marks on negatives, the back of the camera is fitted with a narrow casing 2, Figs. 1, 2 and 3, through which the film 10 passes and which has a hinged plate 6 in front of the film to prevent light from the lens affecting the strip on which the marks are produced, and normally pressed against the film by a spring 8. Behind the film are fitted a translucent strip 3 on which the autograph or other marking is made and a sliding shutter 5 to expose the film from the back, the black paper of the film being slotted for the purpose at the correct intervals. The plate 6 is released from the film by a handle 9 fitted on the hinge 7. In a modified construction, Fig. 5, a hinged door 14 is fitted on the back of the casing and the autograph or other marking may be made on a plate 13, Fig. 8, which can be drawn cut. The plate may have a black border.
