Abstract
The curable (hardenable) composition is a mixture of a certain acrylic-based monomer or prepolymer and a free-radical polymerisation initiator with an additive comprising at least one compound having maleimide or 3,6-endomethylene-1,2,3,6-tetrahydrophthalimide end groups. This additive significantly improves the thermal properties, in particular the tensile strength at elevated temperatures and the resistance to thermal degradation. The compositions can be made anaerobically or UV-curable with appropriate initiators.
