Abstract

The process of the parent Specification is modified by the use of acid salts for effecting the conversion of the cyanamide into urea. The acid salt may contain an element, such as potassium, of manurial value. For example, sodium or potassium bisulphate may be used, the solution concentrated in vacuo, and calcium or other insoluble phosphate added, whereupon a compact mass is obtained. Instead of an insoluble phosphate there can be added other substances, such as kainite, silicates of potassium or magnesium, or fluorides, which are converted by acids into bodies of greater manurial value, or which by taking up water reduce the necessity for evaporation.ALSO:The process described in the parent Specification is modified by the use of acid salts for effecting the conversion of cyanamide into urea. The acid salt may contain an element, such as potassium, of manurial value. For example, sodium or potassium bisulphate may be used, the solution concentrated in vacuo, and calcium or other insoluble phosphate added, whereupon a compact mass is obtained.
