Abstract

154,228. Saunier, H. R. Aug. 19, 1919. [Convention date]. Packing surgical dressings; unpacking. - Relates to a package for aseptically treated products, such as cotton bandage, &c. The sheet of cotton a, Fig. 1, is rolled up in a sheet of paper b having secured to one end a strip d of heavy paper or cloth. A paper disk or washer f is secured to the middle of the strip d by a metal eyelet g, and a cord h attached to the eyelet serves for securing the roll. The package or roll thus formed is inserted in a bag or wrapper formed with a bellows fold i, Fig. 5, secured by a paper strip k having a tearing string l. Thus by pulling the string, the strip k is torn and the expansion of the fold enables the roll to be removed easily from the wrapper.
