Abstract

Obstruction-removers. -A life-guard for motor and like vehicles. of the type which is mounted on the fixed or pivoted main front axle a, Fig. 1 and comprises a vertical rear section and an adjustably hinged forward section, is constructed of cane, willow or wicker basketing, and extends at the sides f beyond the wheels b. The basketry may be strengthened or stiffened by binding or interweaving with wire, wood, leather, rubber, canvas, or like material, and may be covered on either side with leather, canvas, rubber, or similar material. The guard comprises a vertical portion g, Fig. 4 and an horizontal portion e which is hinged to the vertical portion at and adjustably supported by rods h having screw-threaded ends to receive nuts h<1>. Basket coverings may also be provided to protect the starting-handle and projecting front suspension springs.
