1535045 Decorating ceramics BEN CAPPER Ltd 27 July 1976 [31 May 1975] 23741 Heading C1M Decals are applied to ceramic articles which are to be glazed, the entire surface of the decal and of the article is then coated with a matting agent, compatible with the glaze to be applied, so as to render the coated surfaces hydrophillic, the article is then coated with a glaze medium and then fired to harden the glaze. The matting agent may be a glaze, a flux or china clay together with a binder (e.g. a polymer and a solvent) with optional addition of a thinner.
