Abstract
1533803 Converter steelmaking INSTITUT DE RECHERCHES DE LA SIDERURGIE FRANCAISE 30 Aug 1977 [30 Aug 1976] 36238/77 Heading C7D Iron is refined in a bottom blown converter by injecting a strongly oxidizing gas e.g. pure oxygen, through the central passage of a double-channel tuyere, and injecting liquid oxygen through the annular outer channel. The amount of liquid oxygen may be 0À2-0À5 kg/Nm<SP>3</SP> of oxygen gas, and its temperature 80-140‹K at 1 to 40 atmospheres.
