Lined d and d covered boxes; materials, special; boxes made by bending sheet material. - The body and lid of a cigarbox of the type in which two opposite sides are higher than the other sides are formed of two or more layers of cardboard or strawboard, the layers being glued together either before or after shaping. The bottom and two sides are formed from blanks a, b, the blank b being shorter than the blank a in order to provide recesses for the ends c. Packing-strips e may be used to strengthen the sides. Strips of fabric are secured along the vertical and horizontal edges of the body of the box, and the lid is hinged to the body by a strip of fabric. The body and lid are covered with paper printed to represent the graining of wood.
