Abstract

205,730. Reynolds, R. S. Dec. 4, 1922. Boxes made from special blanks; combined in tiers; materials, special.-The ends of a tubular carton of rectangular cross section are so formed as to project upwardly beyond the plane of the top side to form gripping-members for supporting a similar carton stacked above. A portion of the end of the top side is removed to provide flanges 8, 9 which, when the creased ends 10 of the adjacent sides are folded inwardly, are folded upwardly and secured to the end 13 of the bottom side of the carton by a metal sealing strip 14. The carton is preferably formed from composite material comprising a sheet of tinfoil secured by waterproof cement to a sheet of non-absorbent cardboard.
