Abstract

1531449 Pipe connectors WAVIN PIPES Ltd 20 Nov 1975 [26 Nov 1974] 47735/75 Heading F2G A connector for a discharge pipe of a toilet bowl to a soil pipe comprises a body member 2 having a larger diameter portion 4 which in use contains a peripheral seal 3 for reception of the discharge pipe, and a smaller diameter portion 5 for insertion into the soil pipe, the part of the body member 2 intermediate the portions 4, 5 being in the form of a ring 6 providing an abutment for the discharge and soil pipes. The smaller diameter portion 5 is provided with extension flanges 8 which form recesses 9 for 0-ring seals. The seal 3 is of elastomeric material and has a main tubular body 10 with a top 12 and a leg 13 with a beading 14 which extends back over the body 10 and in use fits over the entrance 7 of the body member 2. The body 10 tapers discretely on its outer surface to form annular projections to seal with the inner surface of the body portion 4. Annular projections are formed on the interior of the body 10 and comprise a rib 18 at the top 12, a rib 19 with a beading 20 and a lower rib 21.
