Abstract

1530618 Hand winches F G TAYLOR 21 May 1976 [15 July 1976] 29525/75 Heading B8B A winch to facilitate the coupling of a trailer to a towing vehicle comprises a body 12 having a hook 13 for coupling to a towing ball 10, an arm 14 projecting from the body 12 and mounting a winding drum 15 at the end thereof, a pulley 20 freely mounted on the body 12 and a cable 25 which extends from the drum 15 around the pulley 20, through a block 22 on the trailer and has its end anchored to the body 12. The block 22 is releasably mounted over an upstanding pin 24 on the trailer. The arm 14 projecting from the body 12 transversely of a line between the pulley 20 and the hook 13 whereby the winch drum does not obstruct passage of the trailer. The drum 15 is manually operable by a handle 17, 18 and the extreme end of the arm 14 incorporates a rigid handle 19.
