Abstract
1530403 Space heaters SOC D'ETUDES ET DE RECHERCHE DE PRODUITS SEPRO 19 Feb 1976 [21 Feb 1975] 06642/76 Heading F4S [Also in Division H5] In a combined radiant-convector space heater a resistance heating element 9 provided with a planar perforated heat exchange fin 11 is situated in the lateral air inlet of the casing 1 so that at least some heat 23 is radiated through the inlet and at least some heat is convected out of the outlet 31. The heat exchange fin 11 is made of aluminium alloy and its planar surface, which is apertured at 15 to form louvres, is arranged parallel to the inlet wall of the casing 1. Sleeve portions 13 of the fin embrace metal sheathed resistance heating elements 9. Baffles 25 situated adjacent outlet 31 are rotatably adjustable to control the relative quantities of convected and radiated heat. Firmed heating elements may be provided in inlets in opposed walls of the casing. The casing 1 may be mounted on castors or may be suspended from wall brackets as shown. The fin 11 may have a matt finish, e.g. it may be anodized followed by a matt black colouring, to increase its emissivity.
