Abstract

1530225 Polyurethane foams BAYER AG 30 May 1977 [1 June 1976] 22728/77 Heading C3R A process for the production of a polyurethane foam comprises reacting a polyisocyanate with a compound containing at least two NCO-reactive hydrogen atoms in the presence of, as blowing agent, water and, as catalyst, a compound of the formula wherein n, n<SP>1</SP> and n<SP>11</SP> each represents 2 or 3, Z and Z<SP>1</SP> each represents R or the group where R represents C 1-5 -alkyl and m represents 0 or 1 or the group The reaction mixture may additionally comprise other catalysts, e.g. conventional tertiary amines and organo tin compounds, other blowing agents and other conventional additives. In the examples polyurethanes foams are prepared using as catalyst a mixture of diazabicyclo-2,2,2-octane and either tris-(3-dimethyl aminopropyl)-amine or tris-(3,7-diaza-3,7,7-trimethyl-heptyl)-amine.
