Abstract

152,925. Allison, S. K. March 10, 1920. Stationary batch-mixers with reciprocating or rotary stirrers.-An apparatus for cooling food comprises inner and outer vessels 1, 2. Fig. 1, the inner vessel being spaced away from the outer vessel by rings 8, 9 connected by V-shaped members 10 as shown in Fig. 3. The inner vessel has an integral tubular member 3 open at the bottom, with perforations at the top capable of closure by a screw cap 5. Each vessel has a cover and each cover a central tube 13, 18 provided with a cap. An agitator is inserted in the inner vessel, comprising concentric rings and intermediate connecting pieces 21, 22, 23, Fig. 5, similar in construction to the spacing members 8, 9, 10, the outer rings 21 being carried by wires 24 bent together and twisted to form a shank which will pass through the tubes 13, 18.
