Turning; tools and tool holders.-A lathe tool consists of a gapped ring the internal and lateral faces of which effect the cutting, the piece to be turned being positioned within the ring. The work b is cut by the ed'ge c of the ring-shaped tool a which is positioned in its holder e by a stop-pin i and clamped by a plate f. The stop-pin facilitates replacement after sharpening. By slacking off the bolts n the tool may be displaced, as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1.
