Worm pumps; rotary-tube pumps; pumping-machines; leakage-preventing devices.-A pump for oil comprises a barrel A and an inner member K, one or both of which are helically grooved and the lower end of the inner member is also radially or spirally grooved at M to serve as a centrifugal pump for oil entering at the plug H, thus forming a self-oiling step bearing. The casing is enlarged to form an oil-chamber G. Several deliveries D, F, may be taken off at different points along the casing. Leakage from the upper end of the casing is prevented by a helically grooved portion N. The driving-gear 0, shaft K, grooved portions N, L and the pump portion M are made in one piece, which may be hollow and serve as the inlet or delivery. In the latter case, it is plugged above the suction end and the walls are drilled to connect with the pump grooves.
