Abstract

1527012 Locking pivotal connections A FULTON 26 March 1976 12388/76 Heading E2F In a connector for pivotally connecting together two adjacent parts of an umbrella stick, a pair of shaft members 10, 11 are pivotally connected together about a pin 18 and a collar 13 is mounted on one shaft member 11 to surround the pivotal connection so as to retain the shaft members in substantial axial alignment when rotated to a first position and to allow the other shaft member 10 to be pivoted relative to the shaft member 11 when the collar 13 is rotated to at least one other position with respect to the shaft member. The collar 13 is provided with three circumferentially spaced grooves 21, 22 and 23 into which a spring-loaded ball member housed in a reduced portion 12 of the shaft member 11. The collar is provided with circumferentially spaced recesses 24, 25 of different axial depths in which a lug 17 formed on the shaft member 10 is located. A lug 29 on shaft member 11 co-operates with notches 27 or 28 on the collar 13.
