Abstract

1281370 Umbrellas W BAUERMANN & SOHNE GmbH 31 Oct 1969 [31 Oct 1968] 53549/69 Heading A4P An umbrella having a generally rectangular cross-section transverse to the stick axis when collapsed is provided with a crown formed by two co-operating parts 25, 26 each provided with slots (23), Fig. 3 (not shown), which receive in the assembled condition the ends of ribs (15), Fig. 1 (not shown), which are pivotally connected to the crown in two groups, on opposite sides of the stick by two non-rectilinear rigid rods located in cooperating grooves 27, 28. The struts (18) and auxiliary struts (19) are similarly pivoted to the main and auxiliary slides (13, 14) respectively, Fig.1 (not shown). The ports 25, 26 may be held together by the co-operation of a pin 29 and socket 30, or alternatively by an independent fastening means which also secures a central cap outside the covering material. Both the stick and ribs are telescopic comprising sections (10, 11) and (15, 16) respectively.
