Abstract

152,613. Underwood Patent Side Car Proprietary, Ltd. June 11, 1919, [Convention date]. Side-car attachments.-A connexion for attaching sidecars to motor-cycles comprises upper and lower parts in sliding engagement, the upper part being pivotally associated with the frame of the machine and the lower part pivotally associated with . an inner spring-controlled arm supporting the side-car body. The connexion may be employed with a side-car underframe as described in Specification 150,741, the lower part 38 being rotatably engaged in a bearing-piece 34 upon the inner spring-controlled crank-arm 13 of the side-car underframe. The upper part comprises a shouldered member 59, 56, 54 secured to the cycle frame 4 and rotatably engaged with a sleeve 53, which is clamped within a tubular arm 49, in turn clamped to the outer telescoping member 44. A hole 47 in this member allows for the introduction of oil for lubricating the sliding joint between the members 44, 43. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers to Specification 111,816 This reference does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
