Abstract
1525382 Detecting fluid-flow electrically PEKTRON Ltd 9 Sept 1975 [18 June 1974] 26828/74 Heading G1N(A) Located between a pump and a fluid-dispensing cylinder 20 in a fluid-dispensing system a flowsensing device comprises conductive or magnetic balls 8 the movement of which to limit positions 16A or 16B changes the inductance of coils L1, L2. By the use of springs or other biasing means the said device may be used in a horizontal or inclined position. Beer from pipe 23 is delivered to one end of dispensing cylinder 20 via branch pipe 25 or 26 and moves the piston 21 which dispels beer or the other side via the other branch pipe to delivery pipe 24. In the absence of flow in pipe 25 the balls 8 damp an oscillator circuit, Fig. 2, and transistor T2 is switched off which closes the flow-control valve or switches of the pump.
