Abstract
The fluid flow is detected by a moving valve which contains a source for magnetic field. The flow opens the valve while the return force closes it. A switch is operated by the magnetic field. A non-magnetic body (1) contains passage between inlet (2) and outlet (3) for the fluid being measured. A cylindrical valve (4) contains a permanent magnet (5) and is ribbed to provide sliding surfaces when in body. Fluid pressure raises the valve to contact a stop (16) and its weight causes return when the supply valve (13) is closed. A switch (6) on the body is operated by the magnetic field when the valve is in its proximity.
