Abstract

1380226 Hydraulic control circuits POCLAIN 14 May 1973 [31 May 1972] 22905/73 Heading F1P In the circuit shown in Fig. 1, when a valve 13 is moved to the left fluid flows through a line 17, and a check-valve 18 to raise a piston 2 and a load 7. When the valve is moved to the right fluid is delivered through a line 16 to a chamber 4 to push the piston down, assisted by the load 7. Fluid from chamber 5 returns to a reservoir 11 through a flow limiter 19 which prevents cavitation in the chamber 4. In the flow limiter 19, Fig. 2, fluid from chamber 5 and line 20 arrives opposite a shoulder 29 of a slide 20. The position of the slide 20 is determined by the balance between pressure in the line 16 which tends to move the slide to the right against a spring 33, and pressure in the conduit 20, caused by an adjustable throttle 22, which tends to move the slide to the left. Thus, when the load is tending to over-run the fluid supply, the pressure in line 16 is low and the slide moves to the left to throttle the return line. Fig. 3 (not shown), illustrates a modified construction of the slide 20 which damps the movement thereof.
