Abstract
1524351 Explosive compositions INDIAN EXPLOSIVES Ltd 4 Sept 1975 04126/74 Heading C1D A dry blasting composition is made by mixing ammonium nitrate, with or without another inorganic nitrate, e.g. sodium nitrate, with a sensitizer comprising a nitrate, perchlorate, chlorate or organic salt of iron, cobalt, chromium, nickel, lead, or copper and then adding a fuel and mixing the whole composition. The fuel may be diesel oil, furnace oil, sulphur, urea, wood meal, bagasse, or aluminium. In examples the sensitizers used are chromium nitrate, ferric nitrate, cobalt nitrate, and lead nitrate. The composition may be detonated in boreholes of less than 2 inches diameter.
