Abstract

1523960 Flux coated welding electrode LA SOUDURE ELECTRIQUE AUTOGENE PROCEDES ARCOS SA 14 Sept 1976 [29 Oct 1975] 38060/76 Heading C7M A flux coated welding electrode in which flux coating powder contains in weight per cent (a) 75-90% slag formers including 30-60% alkaline earth metal carbonate, 15-30% metal fluoride (CaF 2 ) and 0-15% metal oxide (TiO 2 , SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 ) (b) 10-18% deoxidizers (FeMn, FeSi, FeTi, MgAl) including 0À05-3% Ti, (c) 0-7% metallic alloying ingredients (Ni, Fe, Mo, V). The powder is mixed with 15-30% of an aqueous solution of an alkali metal silicate. The preferred flux contains 52-4% CaCO 3 , 19% CaF 2 , 5À7% TiO 2 , 2À6% SiO 2 , 0À9% Al 2 O 3 , 0À1% FeO, 0À1% Na 2 O, 0À1% MgO, 3À8% FeMn, 8À2% FeSi, 1% FeMo, 1À4% MgAl, 1À4% FeTi, 0À4% Zr, 2À9% Ni.
