Abstract
1517454 Hot dip metal coating steel wire GARPHYTTE BRUK AB 18 Feb 1976 [2 April 1975 (2)] 06376/76 Heading C7F The corrosion resistance of a hot dip galvanized carbon steel wire is improved by coating with a molten alloy containing 2-4 wt. per cent Zn and at least one of Sn, Cd, Al, Pb, Cu, Ni at 30-75C above the alloy liquidus temperature. The preferred contents of other constituents are 1-10% Al, 2-10% Pb, 0À5-2% Cu, 0À5-2%, Ni, 0À01-0À1% Si. After galvanizing and prior to coating with the alloy, the wire may be activated by quenching and treat- ing with an acid or cooled and electro-chemically treated in acid, neutral or alkaline solution.
