Abstract

1516833 Coating applicator JOHN DALE Ltd 12 May 1974 [21 May 1974 25 Sept 1974] 12719/74 and 41748/74 Heading B2L [Also in Divisions B3 and B8] An apparatus for spraying sealant material onto the open end of a collapsible tube comprises a reservoir 10 with heaters 21, a nozzle 34 and a metering disc 36 which successively alignes openings with the nozzle axis. The material is discharged from the opening through the nozzle by compressed air. The issuing material impinges on a disc 68, Fig. 2, rotated at high speed to coat the inside of a tube positioned over the disc. A jet of hot air may be directed at the disc to prevent setting of the material.
