Abstract

1342686 Spray producer USS ENGINEERS & CONSULTANTS Inc 19 April 1971 [20 Feb 1970] 23105/71 Heading B2F Spraying apparatus for use in electrolytic tinning lines comprises inner and outer elongated concentrically arranged tubes having respective lengthwise slots in their walls, a lip fixed to one edge of the slot of the inner tube and extending into the slot of the outer tube thus defining an elongated orifice and means for rotating one tube relative to the other to vary the width of the orifice. The figure shows in cross-section outer tube 12 which is closed at one end and inner tube 10 which has a fluid inlet (29, Fig. 1, not shown) at the opposite end to the closure of tube 12. Both tubes have a slot milled substantially the length of the tube and by rotation of tube 12 relative to tube 10 the size of the orifice defined by lip 19 with the slot in tube 12 may be varied. Rotation is limited by stop members in conjunction with the handle used to rotate the tube 12.
