Abstract
1516683 Water distillation AUSCOTENG PTY Ltd 22 July 1975 30532/75 Heading BIB A water distillation system comprises an evaporator 1, condenser 3, refrigerator system for supplying heat to the evaporator and extracting heat from the condenser by having its condenser 7 in heat exchange relationship with the evaporator and its evaporator 13 in heat exchange with the condenser, an entrainment pump 23 for extracting the condensate from the condenser and applying a vacuum through the condenser to the evaporator, and an entrainment pump 26 for extracting brine from an upper level of the evaporator to maintain its level and vacuum. The feed enters at 14 and passes through heat exchanger 18 in heat exchange relationship with the product from line 4 and then through exchanger 20 in heat exchange with brine and through further exchanger 21 before entering the evaporator at 22. The distillate issues from line 25 to tank 32.
